I've decided to continue to work on this view of the garden I've known for over 25 years. Like trying to recreate the face of an old friend from a small, creased photograph, I'm forced to rediscover the subject by inventing marks and signs. "Sketchbook Detail" reveals some of these, as legible as handwriting.
